The Drôme river

The river takes his source to La Bâtie des Fonds, east of the department, and stretches on 106km towards the Rhône. It establishes the natural boundary between the North and the South of the department.

Specifities :
The Drôme is a river completely “free and natural” (without dam). It’s the last wild torrential river of Europe (his flow depends on the rains and the cast iron of snow).
In summer, without rains, the flow can be limited to practice canoe and sometimes obliges to go out of the boat on some meters.
To reduce this problem we choose the best courses with more water.

To preserve this natural side which does his charm, we cannot imagine to change with works to be more comfortable to practice canoe.

Appreciated and respected this unique place of the “the last wild torrential river of Europe”.
